The wine trail
Tarragona is surrounded by a fertile, complex and diverse soil from which wine has been grown for a thousand years. Priorat, Conca de Barberà, Monstant, Terra Alta are some of the iconic regions surrounding Tarragona easily reached in less than one hour drive and explored on foot.
The architectural journey
From vernacular, to medieval hamlets, grandiose monasteries, castles and towers, Baroque Catalan, to gems from the Modernista movement, the Camp de Tarragona has it all.
Despite all the industrial, urban and tourist developments in this area, the magnificent woodland and coast strip around Punta de la Mora has been largely left to its natural habitat.
One would be forgiven to think that the landscape surrounding Tarragona has been tampered to death by heavy industry. As you make your way in from the Reus airport it looks just like that, with the Repsol chemical works belching out smoke, warehouses, and motorways clogging up the horizon as you make your way towards the city. Yet a great initiative by local conservationists is taking place putting the many secluded walks one can take around the Tarragona countryside on the map.
