1. Disfressa d'Or
A gala filled with gloss and glitter, silk and feathers, and the first major event of the Carnival.
Set at Tarraco Arena Plaça (TAP) the Disfressa d’Or is a fierce and competitive catwalk for best choreography, costumes and display.
2. La Bajada del Pajaritu
Dreamt up about 15 years ago, the Bajada del Pajaritu is a crazy race downhill in makeshift “vehicles” of every kind of denomination. It’s held on Saturday in an atmosphere of anarchy and brilliant fun.
3. La Rua de l'Artesania
The main parade held on Saturday is a huge event. It starts at 18:00 hrs and over three thousand people take part. If you don’t want to be left out come with a costume as the whole of Tarragona joins in.
4. Rúa de Lluïment
A shorter version of the Rua de l’Artesania, the Rúa de Lluïment takes place on Sunday on the Rambla Nou. If you have missed out on the previous night this is the second chance to gaze at the fabulous costumes and energetic dance routines which make the Rúa de Lluïment a real treat.
5. Dol, Enterrament i Crema
Taking place on Monday night this is the final act of the Carnival which sees the cremation of King Carnestolte and his concubine. The firebeast and devils are let loose as the pire burns in front of the Town Hall in a mayheam of fire. A dark and unforgettable ending.
