The Museum of Modern Art in Tarragona (MAMT) takes the artistic journey of the city into modernity.
Dipping into the MAMT (as it’s generally known) has become a bit of a habit on the way back from my evening walk through the old city. It has a permanent collection of great names with items like the dazzling Miró tapestry, the dramatic mortuary work by Julio Antonio and the latest compelling example of contemporary art which change every two months.
The building itself is fascinating , made of three 18th century houses knocked in to one, and blends seamlessly in to the old city landscape. And best of all it’s free entry all year round.
