There are many aspects to the festivities of Sant Magì in Tarragona and one new addition was this year nod to Holi, the hindu festival of colour.
Nearly a thousand ready to party teenagers gathered in the playfield of the Camp de Mart each equipped with sachets containing coloured flour, main weapon in Tarragona’s first colour fight.
This year’s SantMagí was unusually wet, the rain robbing the festivities from its usual hot days and steamy nights credentials, but the connection of the festival with water was still present with the organisers of the event drenching revellers with a water pipe.
As the end of the countdown the skyline exploded in puffs of yellow, red and blue setting a precedent to, hopefully, a new permanent addition to the August celebrations.[widgetkit id=7517]
